Billiards
I have tried many things since becoming blind, not all of them a howling success.
I used to be a very good billiard player but in spite of engaging the help of a professional (Mark Peevers) it's a bit tricky if you can't see the table!

Walking
I have done thousands of miles on a treadmill but my greatest achievement so far is being the first blind man to walk the 79 miles of the Yorkshire Wolds Way with the aid of 11 volunteer guides and raising over £5000 for Guide Dogs UK.

Theatre
Enjoying theatre when you can't see it was something I thought unachievable but with the aid of an audio describer, touch tours and the goodwill of all concerned this has become something we can both really enjoy again.

Pillion Riding
With the help of some absolutely wonderful people and the kind permission of Mike Thatcher at Seaways Cafe, Fridaythorpe, I rode as pillion 33 laps of 6.5 miles on different bikes.
The first lap seemed a little strange but when I got used to it I had a whale of a time!

Gliding
Through the generosity of our Australian Friends Julie and Jason, I had the opportunity to fly a glider! My instructor George was absolutely brilliant and let me fly it myself a few times while he was sat in the back laughing.
It was an odd experience at times but would I do it again? Absolutely!

Cleveland Way
To follow up on the Yorkshire Wolds Way I then did a similar challenge on the Cleveland Way. 109 miles with about 18 different volunteer guides.
I was a little slow at 12 days but three months before the event I was in hospital with sepsis and pneumonia. That's what I call a challenge! This raised over £9000 for Guide Dogs UK

Axe Throwing
Whilst on the Isle of Skye, Matthew of A.C.E. Target Sports invited me to try throwing some axes. I'd never done this when I could see so what could possibly go wrong?
I had a great time, hit the bull with my third axe (video available on our YouTube channel),. Give it a try!
