'Forget Who You Were, Focus On Who You Are and be the best at that you possibly can.'

Andrew, Founder of Travelling Blind

Welcome to Travelling Blind, where we are committed to raising awareness about living with disabilities. Our mission is to inspire and educate others on how to adapt and overcome life's challenges and make some wonderful memories along the way.

Our founder, Andrew, has a unique and inspiring story to share, which you can see here on our My Story page. With the support of his wife and friends, he has learned to live his life with its new challenges and wants to share his journey with others.

Travelling Blind

We offer public speaking sessions that are amusing, inspiring, and informative (45 mins approx.). Andrew's talks are about what happened to him and how he and his wife have adapted to deal with it. He's happy to travel anywhere across the country to share his story and motivate others to focus on who they are now and not dwell on what things once were.

Travelling Blind is more than just public speaking. We travel around the country, leaving detailed reviews of places we love, such as shops, cafes, and other accessible locations.

We invite you to join us on our journey and follow us on Facebook to keep up with our latest adventures. If you're interested in booking us for an event or talk, please get in touch. Let's work together to inspire others and create a more accessible world.

Challenges

Who doesn't love a challenge? Since starting Travelling Blind, I have taken on a number of challenges to test my limits! These include a 12-hour treadmill challenge, gliding, axe-throwing and pillion riding.

I am the first blind man to walk the 79 mile Yorkshire Wolds Way and the 109 mile Cleveland Way with the aid of over 30 different volunteer guides to raise money for Guide Dogs UK. This year it will be 245 miles of the King Charles III coast path.

Join us on our adventures!

We love to share our day-to-day experiences with you all, so come and join us as we face this ride called life.

Charity

Almost two million people in the UK are living with sight loss which has a significant impact on their daily lives. Of those, around 180,000 rarely leave their homes alone and lead lonely, isolated lives.

Guide Dogs UK works for a society where people with sight loss are never left out of life, for a world where being blind or partially sighted is not what defines you. A world with enough support to make the challenges of sight loss no barrier to fulfilling hopes and dreams.

By the end of 2023 we had raised over £15600 for Guide Dogs UK and are looking to raise a further £10000 this year.

This can help make the difference between somebody sat at home on their own or enjoying a more independent and fulfilling life.
